Our goal is to promote the understanding and training of stockdogs, for use in the livestock industry and develop livestock handling skills among our fellow students.
We love to give back to our community. In Stockdog, you will find many oppourtunities to educate. Our club teaches children, adults, and our community the importance of agriculture, and how dogs help us in the ag industry.
Stockdog is a place for students with herding dogs to bond. We bond over dog sports, our successes in herding, dog foods, and everything dog related. It is a support group. Friendships made through stockdog will last years beyond graduation.
Barn Hunt is based on the traditional roles of many breeds in ridding farms, barns, crop storage areas, and homes of destructive vermin. Barn Hunt is committed to creating a safe and fun sport for dogs, that also holds rat care at the highest level of consideration. The rats used in Barn Hunt are often beloved family pets. They jump eagerly into their safe, comfortable aerated tubes and truly enjoy interacting with the dogs.
Dock diving, also known as dock jumping, is a sport in which dogs compete in jumping for distance, or height, from a dock into a body of water. Dock diving is open for all breeds and mixes, depending on club.
Dog agility is a sport in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. Dogs run off leash with no food or toys as incentives, and the handler can touch neither dog nor obstacles. Consequently, the handler's controls are limited to voice, movement, and various body signals, requiring exceptional training of the animal and coordination of the handler.
